Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager – Oncology to join our team on a Permanent Full Time managing a team of 60 staff.The role manages the 30-bed oncology ward and supports the leadership of our Day Infusion team, operating 16 chairs and 4 private rooms.This is an exciting position in our team, and we are seeking an esteemed clinically competent nursing professional to support the team whilst using your strong communication skills to develop relationships with VMOs.About us:Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 339-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.Gold Coast Private Hospital is committed to continual growth, providing exciting opportunities and professional career pathways in healthcare.As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Oncology ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients.You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based.As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring, and support to your nursing team.Have a working knowledge of flexible rosters, budgets, and key performance indicators.Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement.Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes.Undertake direct patient care, as required.Current Registration with AHPRA.Post Graduate Certificate in Oncology or working towards (desirable).Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent, such as Acting in charge.Compliance with ACSQHC National standards.A strong commitment to developing in a management role.Computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.Proven time management and prioritization skills.Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.Demonstrated HR management experience.Why Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
