We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Located in Margaret River, Rapids Landing Primary School first opened in January 2018. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school is committed to developing a culture of ‘High Care and Performance’ by engaging, consulting, and working collaboratively with the school community to provide a learning environment that is positive and underpinned by a strong set of values.
The Role
As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role, you will collaborate and work in a team environment. Education Assistants will ideally possess good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. You will ideally be organised and able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
Working under teacher direction in a diverse role, you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant, with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs is an important aspect of this role. An ability to work in a range of settings from Kindergarten to Year 6 and work as part of a friendly, supportive, and highly collaborative team is highly desirable.
Minimum Requirements
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start
* Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit
