2. Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
3. Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role:
We're seeking a Senior Lawyer to join our dedicated team at the Warrnambool office. In this essential role, you will provide high-quality legal services, including expert court advocacy and casework in complex criminal law and family violence intervention matters. You'll also play a key role in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, contributing to their professional development and the broader strategic goals of VLA.
This role is based at our Warrnambool office on Gunditjmara Country.
About you:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
4. Demonstrated experience as an advocate and caseworker in complex criminal and family violence matters.
5. The ability to offer strategic advice on legal and policy issues, and an understanding of the role of various external organisations in legal aid services.
6. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as with staff and stakeholders.
7. Experience in supervising, mentoring, and training staff, enhancing their skills in criminal law and family violence.
8. A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
