Salary:$34.46 - $40.05 - Dependent on Qualification and Experience Location:Warrnambool Location / Hamilton Location Work Schedule:Rostered Work About the Role As a Residential Care Worker, you'll offer direct support, care, and guidance to young people residing in our homes throughout the Warrnambool / Hamilton region. Our focus is on assisting and supporting young individuals who have faced trauma and may present with high and complex needs. This position is about strengthening rapport with our residents by teaching life skills and supporting their social and emotional development. Your day could involve cooking meals, taking them to appointments or sports, school drop-offs, participating in activities like fishing or arts and crafts, and putting on a movie in the afternoon. Additionally, you will complete household duties and case notes daily. It's a dynamic position where no two days will be the same, and we are looking for individuals who are resilient problem solvers, dedicated to making a difference. The role requires availability to work a 24/7 roster, including nights and weekends. In this position, you'll receive support from a House Supervisor who will guide you, as well as from a dedicated team of professionals including Case Managers, Therapeutic Specialists, and Coordinators. The House Supervisor will help you navigate the position, providing advice and assistance when needed, while the wider team will offer collaborative support and share their expertise to ensure you have the resources required to succeed. Requirements Valid and Current Driver's Licence Valid and Current Working With Children's Check Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screening Check Satisfactory Criminal History Check A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
