We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team at Melba. This role is crucial in supporting our growing organisation and ensuring efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
* Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts accurately and on time.
* Assist with BAS returns, month-end closing, and personal funds management.
* Provide support to the accountant and wider finance team.
Accounts Receivable:
* Process account payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and resolve payment discrepancies.
* Perform reconciliations, investigate irregularities, and produce financial reports.
* Maintain accurate records and assist with end-of-month processes.
About You:
* You’re an organised and adaptable team player with:
* Diploma in accounting however, bachelor’s degree in accounting is more desirable
* 2+ years’ experience in accounting role
* High attention to detail and the ability to follow processes meticulously.
* Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* Advanced computer skills and proficiency with financial systems.
* A proactive approach and the ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Requirements:
Requirements: A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).
