Lifestyle Coordinator – what's involved in the role?
As Lifestyle Coordinator you will play a central role in the delivery of an outstanding customer experience. You will be responsible for the design, planning, delivery and promotion of social connections and engagement programs that enhance the psychological, social and physical well-being of our customers.
This position oversees Support Workers and Volunteers to provide effective social engagement in Suncare’s programs. These programs include in centre and out of centre activities, respite, outings and social events.
This opportunity is based in Rockhampton and is available on a permanent full-time basis (Monday to Friday).
A bit more about the role:
Reporting to Suncare’s Social Connections Coordinator you will:
* Design, plan, deliver, and promote programs to enhance customer wellbeing (psychological, social, emotional, physical, and cultural).
* Collaborate with internal teams to communicate activity schedules and coordinate customer participation.
* Ensure programs meet safety, policy, and legislative requirements, including conducting risk assessments.
* Develop inclusive programs for customers with dementia and complex needs.
* Manage the booking process for social connections and engagement and actively promote Suncare facilities to maximise usage.
* Coordinate transport for customers and ensure programs are adequately staffed with support workers and volunteers.
* Oversee venue hire processes and provide ongoing support and training for volunteers.
* Oversee the Customer Feedback process to enhance service delivery.
* Support the development of Support Workers and Volunteers through training, debriefing, team meetings, and ongoing guidance.
* Monitor staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, performance management, and appraisals in collaboration with the Social Connections Coordinator.
About you:
You will be self-motivated and possess a strong customer service ethos and have passion for and find satisfaction in contributing to activities that ultimately make a difference to our customer's lives.
You will also possess:
* Hold or be willing to obtain Diploma or Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle qualification, or similar (Suncare will cover the cost of the Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle qualification).
* Experience as a Diversional Therapist, Lifestyle or Activities Coordinator within the aged or disability sector will be highly regarded.
* Demonstrated ability to be creative, compassionate, and supportive in the provision of a quality Activities Program within the Community.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including ability to establish rapport, maintain positive professional relationships and ensure effective consultation and negotiations with all stakeholders, including culturally diverse families and First Nations communities.
* Well-developed computer literacy, and strong time management and organisational skills.
* Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team and supporting the development of employees, as well as contributing to a positive team culture.
* Local community knowledge and connections will be highly regarded.
