This role might be for you! Santos is seeking for an Onshore Seismic Acquisition Geophysicist to be part of our Subsurface Operations department. This role is vital in the delivery of seismic operations to comply with business, environmental, health and safety standards as defined in the Santos Management System.*** Occasional travel to field locationsKey accountabilities include:
1. Prepare design surveys and invitation to tender documents; negotiate; award and administer onshore and offshore seismic acquisition services contracts
2. Liaise and communicate with technical, commercial, and legal experts across the business, together with asset teams, external stakeholders, and contractors, to ensure effective and efficient planning and delivery of seismic monitoring or seismic surveys.
3. Evaluate contractor capabilities and conduct technical and commercial tender evaluations and assist broader supply chain team to ensure supplier performance in line with cost, delivery and quality targets.
4. Perform contract negotiation/supervision, quality control of operations and data acquisition with knowledge of commercial and legal agreements
5. Communicate effectively with third parties and facilitate stakeholder engagement; landholders, councils, environmental groups, cultural heritage groups, indigenous owners, mines, government departments and others
About You To stand out in this role, we are looking for collaborative candidates with good communication skills and demonstrated skills and experience in:
6. Previous experience in geophysical role with background in onshore seismic acquisition design
7. Proficiency in Omni or other seismic survey design software
8. Ability to communicate the importance of technical, and HSE aspects of seismic survey design and execution
9. GIS experience is desirable.
It is essential that you have tertiary qualifications in Geophysics.
