About the Role As a Disability Support Worker or Team Leader, you will be responsible for: Assisting clients with personal care, daily living activities, and community engagement. Implementing positive behavior support strategies for clients with Prader-Willi Syndrome and other complex needs. Following restrictive practices guidelines, including managing environmental, chemical, and sharps-related restrictions. Monitoring and supporting clients’ health needs, such as diabetes management and adhering to strict food plans. Accurately completing shift notes, incident reports, and data collection to support individual care plans. Collaborating with the team to deliver the best outcomes and reviewing service plans regularly. Maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the NDIS Code of Conduct and our company’s standards. Skills Required to Support Clients with Prader-Willi Syndrome Understanding of Prader-Willi Syndrome : Knowledge of the condition, including behavioral and health-related aspects such as compulsive eating and food security measures. Experience with Challenging Behaviors : Ability to de-escalate situations, maintain a calm demeanor, and manage manipulation effectively. Behavioral Support Experience : Familiarity with restrictive practices and behavior management techniques. Resilience and Adaptability : Capability to stay composed under pressure and respond proactively to the clients' needs. Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication to build relationships and document care appropriately. Attention to Detail : Ability to follow care plans precisely, including strict dietary requirements.
