The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, this role provides high-level strategic and legal advice across critical areas, including enterprise bargaining, compliance, workplace relations, and governance. As a key advisor, you’ll play a central role in advancing the organisation's mission while ensuring operational excellence and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expert legal advice with a strong focus on member and customer service.
* Manage enterprise bargaining processes, dispute resolution, and litigation.
* Provide legal counsel to internal teams and executive management, translating complex legal issues into actionable insights.
* Draft, negotiate, and finalise commercial agreements and contracts.
* Prepare high-quality submissions and reports for regulatory bodies, including Fair Work Commission, CASA, and others.
* Collaborate with external counsel, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
* Conduct legal research, interpret legislation, and provide critical legal opinions.
About You
We’re looking for a results-driven professional with:
* A Bachelor of Laws degree and a current unrestricted practising certificate.
* Minimum 5 years’ post-admission experience, ideally with unions, membership organisations, or aviation-related sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes and multi-party environments.
* Strong skills in legal research, negotiation, and compliance.
* A proactive approach with excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Passion for the aviation industry and a proven ability to work under pressure.
