Position
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team. If you have a love for Japanese cuisine and seek a fast-paced environment to develop and showcase your culinary talents, this opportunity is for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including maki and nigiri sushi, sashimi, grilled skewers and donburi.
* Maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency.
* Oversee stock management and ensure timely ordering of fresh ingredients.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
* Train and supervise junior staff.
* Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials to attract customers.
* Manage food preparation to accommodate dietary requirements when needed.
* Optimize kitchen operations to minimize waste and control costs.
Essential Requirements
· At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher or equivalent trade qualifications
· At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
· Excellent communication and leadership skills
Salary and Benefits
