The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking Expression of Interests from highly motivated Systems Engineer s with Defence industry experience.
This role will support a Mission Planning software tool within a tightknit team of professionals. You will contribute systems engineering support and oversight to the wider multi-disciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, we require a Systems Engineer that is capable of:
1. Develop and deliver engineering artefacts to support ARH and MRH JMPS UPC development, certification and transition. Ensuring that engineering artefacts do not lag developed and tested software by more than three weeks.
2. Ensure configuration control is applied to the development, transition and operation/support of JMPS ARH and MRH UPCs and tools (IAW SB Eng Management Manual configuration control procedures and Defence procedures where appropriate).
3. Apply skills and expertise to develop innovative means of improving workflows and certification activities
4. Facilitate risk and issues assessments to identify and manage all project technical risks and issues; ensuring reports are generated and are available for all stakeholders.
5. Autonomously apply engineering processes to software development activities and products and work within JC4ISPO’s Engineering Management System and the ADF’s regulatory framework to achieve the formal release of the products.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
6. Min 5 years’ experience as a Defence Aerospace Design Engineer.
7. Working knowledge of MIL-STD-498 and/or DO-178C
8. Working knowledge of Aviation Mission Planning
9. Geospatial Data knowledge
10. Software programming knowledge
11. Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and workflow
12. Ability to review and recommend improvements to procedures and systems
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
14. Hold an NV1 (or greater) Security Clearance
Desirable:
15. Experience working in / with ADF in an aviation software engineering capacity
16. Knowledge of European Military Aviation Regulations
17. Knowledge of JMPS/PFPS
18. System Acceptance Testing Procedures Design
