About the role:
This leadership position oversees mental health programs to support staff, volunteers, and their families, working collaboratively with statewide teams to drive a wellbeing-focused culture through prevention and intervention services.
Responsibilities include delivering best-practice mental health programs, short-term counselling, training, and triaging support needs to ensure optimal mental health outcomes.
Key Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
* Registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; or Mental Health accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Highly desirable requirements:
* Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Organisational Psychology) highly regarded.
* Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Queensland Mental Health Service delivery, legislation, and policies.
* Experience leading mental health programs in a large government organisation.
* Skilled in developing and delivering evidence-based mental health initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
Your Key Accountabilities
* Lead and deliver best-practice mental health services for staff, volunteers, and families, including triaging, short-term counselling, and training.
* Develop regional mental health plans using data-driven insights and stakeholder consultation.
* Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure statewide consistency and governance of services.
* Oversee regional support networks, including crisis support triaging.
* Facilitate training, workshops, and events to promote mental health awareness.
* Prepare reports, briefs, and submissions on psychological support services.
* Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Represent the department in committees and working groups to drive wellbeing initiatives.
