Your responsibilities will include:
The Hobart Class Combat System is at the forefront of advanced naval technology and provides the strategic advantage for Defence.
Based at Garden Island, you will join the broader Naval Combat System Engineering Team within LMA.
The Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for assisting with the execution of prescribed engineering activities that will be applied to upgrade/update packages to be installed on in-service naval platforms within the Navy’s fleet.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing engineering support for the weapon system to the customer (RAN)
* Liaising with the stakeholders to assist with the development and maintenance of the Engineering Assurance framework
* Conducting Pre-Engineered Change & Impact Assessments (PECIA) for minor engineering changes
* Assisting the customer in the development and execution of engineering changes
* Providing engineering oversight to Multi Element Integration & Test team activities
* Interact with the Systems Engineering Integration Team and Transverse Engineering disciplines
About you:
While you may possess some of the skills listed, we encourage you to apply even if you do not fulfill all the requirements.
* Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle in a sustainment environment either in Avionics / Aeronautics, Maritime, or Land domain
* A background in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics/Aerospace Engineering with a degree qualification
* Significant experience working with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals
* Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to develop/publish high-quality plans, processes & procedures
* An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information
