Job Description
Main job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Execution of the weekly work schedule and approved break in work.
2. General maintenance tasks on surface and underground equipment (on fixed infrastructure as well as mobile equipment).
3. Executes maintenance activities in accordance with the relevant HSE standards.
4. Assists in developing and enhancing task lists, work procedures and instructions.
5. Identification and implementation of Maintenance Execution improvement initiatives.
6. Demonstrate commitment to customer service both internal and external to the business.
7. Pursuing operating perfection in work practices and approach.
8. Reporting of events, work requirements and hazards in a timely and accurate manner.
9. Updating events and work requests with an accurate scope of work, to support effective planning of work.
10. Comply with the 1SAP Work Management processes related to work identification, execution and the capturing of related historical information.
The Successful Applicant
Essential Skills for a Communications Maintenance Technician:
1. A certification 3 or 4 in Electronics and Communications TAFE or similar.
2. Has done a full apprenticeship and has completed post apprenticeship work.
3. Understanding of IP Networks and background with networking and switches.
4. Understanding of task Risk Management and Assessment.
5. Understanding of Maintenance principles and practices.
6. Full drivers license with the ability to drive manual.
7. Background in either underground analogue or digital radio systems.
8. Basic understanding of communications systems outside of radio communications.
9. Strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
10. The ability to work effectively in a team.
11. Comfortable working underground night shifts.
12. Leaky Feeder management, installation, maintenance and repair.
13. Fibre management, installation, maintenance and repair.
14. CCTV management, installation, maintenance and repair.
15. Wi-Fi management, installation, maintenance and repair.
16. PED Transmissions systems.
Additional skills that will be highly considered:
1. A Limited Electrical license.
2. A background in Electric Telecommunications.
3. SAP knowledge.
4. Commitment to health, safety and the environment.
