Job Reference: 958262Curtin University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director to lead the Curtin Health Service.

The Medical Director will oversee clinical governance, lead a team of General Practitioners (GPs), and ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality health services to students, staff, and their families.
This position is pivotal in ensuring that Curtin Health Service maintains exceptional clinical standards while fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
As Medical Director, working closely with the Practice Manager you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation and clinical governance of the Health Service while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Approximately 70-80% of your time will be spent providing direct primary health care services, while 20-30% will focus on leading the clinical team, quality improvement initiatives, and developing strategic partnerships with community care providers.
We offer flexibility around working hours, and will consider part-time (0.6FTE) to full-time to suit your preference.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the clinical functions of Curtin Health Service, including clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety.
Provide primary health care services to students, staff, and their families.
Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure that services meet the highest professional and regulatory standards.
Develop and maintain operational guidelines and best practices for the health service.
Promote equity and access to health services for all members of the Curtin community.
Contribute to the education and professional development of clinical staff through mentorship and training.
Build strong partnerships with community care providers to enhance the delivery of services.
Lead initiatives that foster continuous improvement in clinical services, patient care, and safety.
About YouWe are looking for a passionate and experienced Medical Director who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and fostering a culture of excellence.
You will be a proven leader with excellent communication skills and a strong background in clinical governance, quality improvement, and primary care.
Experience working with young adults and diverse cultural backgrounds is highly desirable.
Selection Criteria:
Evidence of unconditional registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
Proven experience in clinical leadership and management of healthcare teams.
Strong commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience in young adult health services or working with diverse cultural groups (highly desirable).
Role Requirements:As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
