Job Description: Head of First Nations
The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of First Nations. This position will play a critical role in elevating First Nations voices and stories within the screen industry in South Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Industry Development:
o Lead the evolution and implementation of the SAFC's First Nations Screen Strategy.
o Drive new industry and funding partnerships and programs to fund increased opportunities for SA First Nations screen practitioners and businesses.
o Oversee all industry programs to support an increasing pipeline of credited South Australian First Nations talent across film, television, and video games.
* Operations and Financial Management:
o Provide high-level First Nations cultural advice on SAFC and Adelaide Studios operational matters.
o Contribute positively to governance documents for SAFC and Adelaide Studios which reflect the SAFC's commitment to the participation of First Nations people in South Australia's screen industry.
* Leadership and Stakeholder, Client, and Team Relationship Management:
o Effectively lead and influence colleagues and partners to enable outstanding outcomes for SA First Nations screen practitioners.
o Maintain effective relationships with First Nations stakeholders across the state and nation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Demonstrated ability to work within an institutional context to effect change and influence industry development outcomes.
* Success securing and delivering financial support for First Nations programs and activities.
* High-level executive skills including the ability to manage priorities, develop and manage budgets, and prepare effective reports.
