Community Correctional Services (CCS), is overseen by Corrections Victoria, a division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. CCS is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders. About the role As the Principal Practitioner, you will have oversight of staff and case management practices across a service stream of prisoners on parole, including individuals who have committed violent and sexual offences, and post-sentence supervision. Reporting to the Community Correctional Services (CCS) Regional General Manager, this is a key position in the regional and CCS management structure providing supervision of case managers who are monitoring prisoners on parole and individuals subject to post-sentence supervision. You will provide advice and consultation in relation to identified risk escalation behaviours, incident management and quality assurance practices and processes. You will also work closely and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. The work location for this role is flexible within the Hume Region and can be based either in Shepparton or Wodonga. To be successful in this role, you will have: extensive experience in the case management of complex and/or high-risk individuals experience in best practice risk management initiatives and therapeutic work with high risk and complex individuals knowledge and experience working within a legislative framework excellent written communication skills including preparing comprehensive reports, briefings and submissions on high profile and sensitive cases well-developed leadership capabilities including providing effective staff supervision, training and mentoring.
