Spray Painter – Aerospace Manufacturing Full-Time Permanent Position Location: Adelaide, SA Pay Rate: $37 per hour Work Environment: State-of-the-art facilities with professional development opportunities About the Role: Paint Application: Apply high-quality coatings to aerospace components per customer and internal specs, including primer and topcoat applications. Surface Preparation: Mask, clean, and prep surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality. Verification Testing: Conduct thickness and adhesion tests to ensure compliance with aerospace standards. Technical Documentation: Interpret technical specs, work orders, and maintenance manuals to ensure process accuracy. Compliance: Follow industry regulations and meet production deadlines. Record Keeping: Accurately document tasks, materials, and equipment calibration as per internal and customer requirements. Stock Management: Manage paint consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and minimising waste. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain spray equipment and keep the facility clean to ensure safety and efficiency. Skills & Experience: Trade Qualification in Automotive Refinishing Technology, Aerospace Surface Finishing, or equivalent is essential. Experience with Aerospace Coatings: Familiarity with specialised aerospace coatings, including high-precision applications for aircraft components. Surface Prep & Masking: Skilled in prepping and masking components to ensure proper paint adhesion and high-quality finishes. Testing & Quality Control: Ability to perform verification tests (thickness, adhesion) and work to tight tolerances in a regulated environment. Hazardous Materials Handling Certification for safely managing chemicals used in aerospace coatings is highly regarded. ERP Systems Knowledge: Experience with ERP systems like Quantum to track tasks, materials, and equipment. Attention to Detail: Precision in paint application, ensuring compliance with aerospace specifications.
