Teaching Assistant
This is a challenging yet rewarding role for an experienced teaching assistant to support students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a special educational needs school in North London.
The successful candidate will work with students aged 7-16 who have found mainstream education challenging and may have significant gaps in their education.
The school has excellent transport links and is easily accessible from around London, providing a great opportunity to join a highly supportive team with exceptional senior leadership and fantastic resources.
Your Responsibilities:
* Assist lesson delivery for students with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs.
* Help students develop confidence and independence.
* Implement behaviour management techniques, including physical restraints, to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
* Work with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors, and psychologists.
* Aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
* Establish rapport and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK.
* Experience working within a school environment.
* Clear and up-to-date DBS.
* Patient and 'can-do' attitude, committed to providing outstanding learning experiences.
