About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers, students and the wider school community. You will assist in delivering high-quality education, ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional learning needs, receive the individualised support they require to thrive in the classroom.
Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Provide academic and pastoral support to students, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons, adapting activities to meet diverse learning needs.
* Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, reinforcing lesson objectives and supporting their understanding.
* Encourage independent learning and confidence-building, helping students to achieve their personal best.
* Support behaviour management strategies, promoting a respectful and focused classroom atmosphere.
* Assist in the preparation of learning resources, ensuring lessons are effectively planned and structured.
* Monitor student progress, engagement and well-being, reporting observations to teachers and SEN staff.
* Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum through tailored interventions.
* Uphold school policies on safeguarding and student welfare, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all.
Requirements of the Teaching Assistant (TA):
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar support role.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
* A strong understanding of differentiated learning and classroom support techniques.
* Experience in working with students, particularly in an educational or a school setting, is beneficial.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
* A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
* Commitment to inclusive education, student development and academic excellence.
* An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
