About us:Adult Acute Mental Inpatient Unit (AMHIU) - We care for people over the age of 18 years who require inpatient care for treatment of mental health issues.
We provide acute care and management for older people (generally over 65) who have severe mental health disorders and require inpatient admission.About the role:Participate as a member of a mental health team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case management, intervention or group work as required.Within a multidisciplinary framework undertake routine tasks, ensuring the implementation of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, multidisciplinary consultation, liaison with referring agents, family supports, discharge planning and evaluation of care using appropriate outcome and data measurement systems.Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced social work practitioners and students commensurate with level of experience and contribute to the professional development of staff.About you:Possession of a tertiary degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership in the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is mandatory.The successful applicant must not have any outstanding professional competency or ethical issues, or complaints known to the AASW which may preclude membership to the Association.The successful applicant must maintain their continuing professional development at a level that would at least meet the accreditation standards of the AASW.The successful applicant is required to uphold the AASW Practice Standards 2013 and, if applicable, the AASW Practice Standards for Mental Health Social Workers 2014 and abide by the AASW Code of Ethics.Overseas qualified applicants require a "certification of eligibility" letter from the AASW to be included in their application to be considered for short-listing in the selection process.What we offer:Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a.
