As a Field Service Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment including identifying and correcting more complex problems associated with start-up. Researching, evaluating, and recommending new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.Work You’ll Do:Customer telephone support relating to electrical, operational and programming issues.Travel as needed (30%-60%) to assist in new machine start-up and customer training.Travel as needed for service/warranty related electrical issues.Machine Orders include new Shaffer equipment, new Peerless equipment, and Service orders.Create electrical wiring diagram package.Download programs.Test machine operation and ensure operation is per the order specifications.Assist panel builder as needed.Coordinate machine wiring with electricians.Assist Electrical Engineer with developing and documenting standards for machine operation, wiring diagram, and programming.Review and update the operation and electrical related maintenance sections of machine manuals as needed.Assist in electrical training as required for Service and Engineering personnel.The Field Service Engineer works closely with the:Field Service team for support.Customer to support them with operational questions and issues.Electrical Engineers for electrical package requirements.Mechanical Engineers to coordinate machine wiring requirements.Panel Builder Vendor.Production team on machine wiring.Sales team as needed on electrical relations questions.Basic Qualifications:Technical Degree or Associate Degree in machine control related program or two-year experience with machine controls.Proficiency in PLC, HMI programming and communications.Proficiency in machine control troubleshooting.Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D drawing software.Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical wiring diagrams.Possess good oral and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Allen Bradley, Siemens, and SolidWorks Electrical.
