About the role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our team at the Lovedale Bar + Grill, Rydges Resort Hunter Valley. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Sous Chef in the day-to-day operations of our Venue the Lovedale Bar + Grill, which serves a range of casual and elevated dining options like pizzas, craft beer paddles, and on-the-go snacks, located in the stunning Hunter Valley region. This is a full-time position based in Lovedale, NSW 2325.

What you'll be doing
Assisting the Sous Chef in the following:
* Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food standards and exceptional service.
* Oversee food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen cleanliness.
* Menu creation, including cost-effective and creative menu options.
* Manage kitchen inventory, food production, and staff costs effectively.
* Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns to maintain guest satisfaction.
* Providing mentorship and training to junior kitchen staff.
* Collaborating with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience: Previous experience working in fast-paced kitchens, ideally in leadership roles such as Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef.
* Qualifications: Trade cooking qualifications are essential, and knowledge of kitchen safety, hygiene, and cost management is crucial.
* Passion & Attention to Detail: The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about food and have a great attention to detail, as well as the ability to train and motivate others.
Schedule & Flexibility
* Work Hours: Rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays (no split shifts).
* Location Consideration: Must meet work requirements to be employed in Australia.
