The opportunity Our national Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene team comprises licensed asbestos assessors, certified occupational hygienists, senior toxicologists, and laboratory professionals. As a Consultant, your primary focus is to assess hazardous materials and chemical, physical and biological hazards in the workplace, to protect workers' health and provide guidance to clients so they can anticipate, recognise, evaluate, and control risks associated with those hazardous materials. You will be based in our Melbourne office and contribute to enhancing environmental health and safety (EHS) standards within workplaces, safeguarding the health and wellbeing of workers as well as your clients' reputation, meeting regulatory and best practice requirements.

What you'll do Conducting Asbestos and HazMat audits in commercial buildings, industrial facilities and residential properties such as:Regulatory required condition and re-inspection auditsRegulatory and investigative pre-demolition / Refurbishment AssessmentsDeveloping asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies, issuing clearancesProviding technical guidance on sites during asbestos and lead removal projectsConducting indoor air quality, mould and moisture assessmentsConducting occupational hygiene assessments for a broad range of contaminants including dust, noise, chemicals, etc.Analysing data and preparing technical reports with support from senior staff, including technical specialists and Certified Occupational HygienistsAssisting the team with strategy and business developmentAbout you You are likely to have tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene. You will ideally bring the following:
Demonstrate initiative and competence in the technical aspects of the role and ready, and willing to embrace new challengesStrong report writing ability and verbal and written communication skillsPersonal, client and project management skillsAbility to work independently, alongside a teamAble to work remotely on occasion, with occasional weekends and overtime as requiredExperience in measuring and assessing occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace or conducting asbestos and hazmat surveysAsbestos Assessors License would be highly regardedA full Australian Driver's License if required to travel to client sitesImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
