**Job Title:** Chief Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Chief Engineer to lead our engineering processes and tools within the project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are set up and operating to deliver safe, fit-for-purpose, and supportable solutions to our Defence customers.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and uplift engineering processes and tools within the project.
* Work with the Security Engineering Manager on workforce planning.
* Manage Technical Authorisations within the project.
* Participate in technical hiring to bring the best people into the company with the right skills and experience across various domains.
* Lead security architecture and technical inputs for proposals, solutions development, and ensure cohesion across the projects.
* Provide engineering oversight and a single point of contact for engineering resources on projects in delivery.
* Lead or contribute to business and technical strategy and on contract growth initiatives.
* Continuously improve services through people, process, and technology.
* Coching and mentoring of technical teams to grow and develop knowledge and skills.
* Evaluate strong collaboration with Operations and Service Delivery, Governance Risk and Compliance, Vulnerability and Security Operations Centre teams.
* Support Directors with engineering advice to treat current issues and future plans.
* Represent Leidos as a Chief Engineer in key engagements with clients including contract negotiations and solution presentation.
About You:
We are looking for someone with a minimum of an NV1 Clearance and ability to obtain an NV2 clearance. You should have technical experience with IT systems and Cyber Security Engineering, and be willing to obtain industry-recognised engineering membership and certification.
You will have experience leading large teams of engineers (design and integration) to deliver defence capability to an ADF customer. Project Management qualifications or experience is highly desirable.
You will be a passionate advocate of engineering, understand business imperatives, and be able to communicate with all levels and departments – representing engineering and related technical issues in a way that can be understood by relevant audiences.
