About the role
Narrabri is a country community with many cultural and sporting facilities, two hours from the regional city of Tamworth and with direct flights to capital cities. This strong leadership role will see you being relied upon to comfortably manage a diverse team whilst also building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities and partnerships to increase community participation and engagement. You’ll be responsible for managing the day to day planning of a broad range of park management functions to ensure the delivery of quality frontline services through leadership of the team and the fostering a culture of professionalism and high performance. You’ll also need expert project planning skills and be a natural at juggling and meeting competing priorities. As the role also facilitates the management of natural, historic and Aboriginal heritage on and off reserve, it goes without saying that we’re also on the lookout for individuals who are passionate about conservation and land management!
About you
Your life skills and practical knowledge along with the ability to plan works, operate independently and maintain relationships with field staff, contractors and the broader Area team will aid your success in this role. You'll be a practical decision-maker with the ability to think and solve problems on your feet. Your enthusiasm and motivation to work with others will enable you to thrive and succeed in this diverse, fast-paced role.
Essential requirements:
1. Current Australian Class C Drivers licence or equivalent
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit, enjoy working outdoors as part of a team, and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSW’s most precious natural places.
Applicants must meet the requirements of a firefighting medical which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake frontline firefighting roles. The applicant must pass the task based fitness assessment to a moderate level within the probationary period (up to 12 months) and annually thereafter.
The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
