Water Resource Engineer
Due to continued growth, our client, a specialised consultancy based in Melbourne, is seeking an experienced Water Resource Engineer to join their team to work on ongoing flood modelling and stormwater design projects.
The successful candidate will possess 3-7 years’ experience in stormwater design and flood modelling for engineering works across a wide range of projects. The role will be client-facing, so high-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Responsibilities
1. End to end project management, including, but not limited to scoping out project, preparing accurate costings/budget, creating client proposals, problem solving and drafting reports for approval.
2. Communicating with team members and project manager to ensure they are up to date on the progress with regard to project status, brief and client requirements.
3. Ensure any technical external communication is reviewed and approved by appropriate staff prior to submission.
4. Liaising with relevant stakeholders and authorities as required for the client and project completion.
5. Execute TUFLOW, MUSIC and RORB modelling and associated spreadsheet calculations to produce Flood Modelling, Flood Impact Analysis (FIA), Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), Functional Design, Integrated Water Management and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) reports, working toward an advanced level.
6. Ability to embrace and use geospatial software such as QGIS at an advanced level.
7. Ensuring that QA processes are followed for all work being completed.
8. To establish and consolidate relationships with clients, both during and after project completion.
9. Liaising with the Project Manager and the client to keep informed of relevant developments, changes/modifications associated with the project.
Required
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
2. Engineers Australia National Engineering Registry (NER) is desirable.
3. High level verbal and written communication skills.
4. Developed technical, commercial and delivery acumen.
5. Experience of cost/benefit assessment and best value design.
6. Proven ability to plan, prioritise, implement, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
7. Understanding, experience, and enthusiasm for fostering and developing new technologies and emerging trends in the stormwater industry.
