About the roleIn our Digital Solutions Orebody Intelligence (OBI) group we design & commercialise cutting-edge measurement technology that is reshaping the Mining and Exploration sectors.
We are looking to add a Control Systems Engineer to our autonomous platform team; a critical role as we transition from an operating prototype of a mechanised downhole measurement delivery platform, to finalising the design and build of the production version.
You will be part of a small team of automation and mechanical engineers, working alongside the other friendly and knowledgeable engineering teams across the group.
The position is based in Welshpool WA, the hub of Orebody Intelligence technology design and manufacture in Australia.
It is a critial role in delivering the market leading technology and continuing to push the boundaries un autonomy.
What you will be doing Supporting the Autonomous Lead in product deliveries; Electrical/Control System design, and equipment selection to deliver autonomous outcomes for customers; Integrating COTS devices, and programming interfaces where skillsets allow; Engineering contributor to the OBI Autonomous product roadmap, through innovative ideation; Providing a detailed understanding of sub-system capability & how it delivers on safety and customer needs; Generating and maintaining detailed designs and drawings, with an end goal of outsourcing production builds in order to scale; Evaluation & design of control systems engineering, in line with applicable regulations.
What you will bring Minimum 3 years experience post qualification; Mechatronics or Control Systems Engineering Degree or simular; A safety focus with a commitment to operating and designing in accordance wuth all applicable standards and regulations; Demonstrated history of managing small to large scale projects as Technical Lead; Experience in working with some or all of the following: PLC programming (CODESYS), Automation, SCADA, Control Syste,s.
CANopen, Vision Systems, electrical design stabilization is highly desired; History of adhearing to timelines and budget constraints.
