We are looking for a friendly and energetic individual to join our team and deliver an investigative and enforcement service to ensure it meets the safety and amenity standards of the community.The role will report to the Team Leader Litter Prevention and will liaise with the Metropolitan Waste Resource Recovery Group, Sustainability Victoria, Environment Protection Authority, and the Litter Enforcement Officer Network to ensure a coordinated statewide approach of best practice litter prevention.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance, advice and assistance to residents, ratepayers, developers, builders and visitors in relation to compliance matters.Conduct prompt response and timely investigation into complaints received including appropriate customer feedback.Plan time effectively and actively patrol the municipal district as rostered or required to ensure compliance with the legislation, issuing notices and infringement notices where necessary in accordance with standard operating procedures.Conduct inspections and audits of developments and building sites and other tasks relating to the Act and Council’s Building Site Amenity Program.Participate as a team member of the after-hours program service that includes an on-call availability and overtime service.About youTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance (Government) or similar qualification in Government or Civil Investigations with relevant experience working in a law enforcement environment and environmental protection.High level of oral and written communication skills when communicating with internal staff, customers and representing in a Court setting.Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.Culture and ValuesOur vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
