About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Data Scientist to facilitate and optimize access to pathology data to support our research objectives.
As the lead, you will develop efficient data management processes, extracting and analyzing data from multiple information systems to create reports, dashboards, and actionable insights for SA Pathology's Executive and Business Units.
This role is critical in empowering insight-driven, strategic decision-making and supporting innovative research initiatives.
You will provide expert advice on technical aspects of data management, ensuring the delivery of cleansed, standardized data extracts that prioritize privacy and confidentiality.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Developing new systems to enhance data collection and reporting functionality
* Supporting researchers with timely, accurate data
* Extracting and analyzing data from multiple information systems
* Creating reports, dashboards, and actionable insights
Requirements:
* Strong scientific expertise and advanced analytical skills
* High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and business analytical tools
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
* Demonstrated experience in diagnostic pathology, laboratory data analysis, business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and statistical methods
