Salary: From $74,000 - $76,000 per year + additional superannuation.
Task & ResponsibilitiesDuties include:
Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food suppliesResponsible for quality control and tasting the dishes; ensuring they are at the right standard and are presented correctly before they go out to the customerDiscussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staffDemonstrating techniques and advising on cooking proceduresPreparing and cooking foodExplaining and enforcing hygiene regulationsMay select and train staffMay freeze and preserve foodsCollaborate with management to develop new dishes and create a vision for the cuisine, inspire the team, and delegate tasks effectivelyCoordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food serviceRecruit, motivate and manage staffOversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, order food, and undertake the kitchen inventory (this potentially includes budgeting)Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and oversee hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchenPrepare and plate dishes and have an input into menu design.Qualification & ExperienceTo be successful in the role, you will need to have:
