The Office of the Coordinator General is a small business-facing, client-orientated office committed to professionalism, excellent customer service and creative problem-solving. To deliver the Office’s service-level commitments team members will need to work flexibly and collaboratively.
The occupant may need to conduct work outside of normal business hours to meet business needs.
The position operates in an office-based environment where regular intrastate travel may be required
Location: Statewide role, Launceston preferred.
Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for three (3) years.
Duties
* Through tailored case management proactively assist private sector investment proponents and facilitate their major projects to progress quickly and to overcome obstacles where possible.
* Research and analyse commercial, economic, financial and technical aspects of a proponent’s business, project and capability to support decision making on complex proposals and provide recommendations.
* Prepare a variety of well-written, high-level documentation including business cases, investor pitches, Ministerials, reports, briefing notes, presentations and project documentation.
* Build and drive positive and collaborative relationships with key government and industry stakeholders to facilitate business opportunities.
* Contribute to investment attraction and engagement strategies that promote the State’s industries.
* Work with the Department of Home Affairs and Migration to attract the required skills and assist investors to bring specialist skills to the state.
* Represent the Office in negotiations and consultation with industry and government regarding investment attraction and industry development. Collate data and market intelligence on Tasmania’s target sectors, key markets and areas of competitive advantage
* Other duties as required by the Executive Director, Investment
Desirable Requirements
* Current driver’s licence
* Commercial project development and planning experience
* A multi-lingual ability
