The Organisation :
This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
The Role :
We are seeking an APS6 Strategic Communications Officer for a Federal Government Agency. This role is within the Internal Communications Branch, where you will offer strategic advice and support for internal and external communications and engagement activities.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
o Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
o Champion plain English in all communications, ensuring that materials are accessible and adhere to agency style and branding guidelines.
o Act as a trusted communications expert, assisting internal stakeholders and business partners to achieve project objectives.
o Draft clear, concise, and effective messaging for diverse audiences, including creating talking points and speeches.
o Contribute to the development and delivery of various communication plans, manage the approval process, and coordinate the release of materials.
o Build and maintain important relationships with internal stakeholders, addressing and resolving any challenges that arise.
o Evaluate the impact of communications, identify lessons learned, and assess whether project objectives have been achieved.
o Provide administrative, technical, and procedural support to team members as needed.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following :
o Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues independently.
o Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously.
o Adaptability and strong organizational skills.
o Experience in strategic communication planning and stakeholder management.
o Project management skills preferred but not essential.
o Strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
