About the role Provide active support to people with Disability in Cairns across Supported Independent Living (SIL). The people you will support are looking for passionate & highly skilled support workers who are experienced in providing complex health care supports, positive behaviour support, medication administration and personal care. An understanding of approved restrictive practices will also be highly regarded. As a part time or casual employee joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will support people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster, including active nights. Key Responsibilities Follow person-centred support and positive behaviour support plans Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities Maintain thorough record keeping Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues Advocate for client choice and control Skills & Experience Certificate III Individual Support Ability to work within a positive behaviour support framework and approved restrictive practices Complex health care support including medication administration An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence A current First Aid and CPR Certificate Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check, Working With Children Check (Blue Card) and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
