Edinburgh University Students' Association is looking to recruit a Venue Operations Manager to join our Trading Operations team at Pleasance & Peffermill.

We’re looking for a Venue Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Pleasance and Peffermill venues, ensuring exceptional service, strong financial performance, and a thriving event programme.
Beyond operations, you’ll play a key role in driving commercial growth, increasing bookings, and engaging with student societies, promoters, and event organisers to make the Pleasance a vibrant hub year-round. With a major expansion during the summer festival season, you’ll also support large-scale events and high-volume trading.

Salary : £35,974 - 40,291 per annum (Band F)
Pattern : 5 days out of 7 including evenings and weekends
Contract : Permanent
The Role :
1. To manage and ensure the smooth and safe operation of the Students’ Association’s Pleasance venue, including all F&B outlets within it.
2. The Venue Operations Manager will ensure effective supervision of these outlets, driving high standards of customer service and food/beverage quality at all times.
3. Beyond operations, the post holder will play a key role in the strategic growth of the venue’s commercial potential, focusing on increasing bookings and audience engagement in key spaces, including the 300-capacity Theatre and the newly refurbished multifunctional Cabaret Bar.
4. They will proactively network, build relationships with promoters, event organisers, and key stakeholders to attract a diverse range of bookings and ensure the Pleasance remains a vibrant hub for events, performances, and community engagement.
5. Another key aspect of the role will be supporting the large-scale expansion of operations during the Festival, the single biggest contributor to the bottom line.
6. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition from term-time operations to the Festival period, where activity significantly increases across the site.
