About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Horticulturist to support the maintenance, development, and conservation of our living plant collection at Melbourne Gardens.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply horticultural techniques to create a thriving plant environment.
* Manage pest control using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
* Oversee irrigation systems.
* Contribute to landscape development projects and horticultural plans.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of presentation.
Requirements
* A Trade Certificate, Advanced Certificate, or relevant qualifications in Horticulture.
* Experience in large public gardens.
* Completion of a Farm Chemical Users Course or an Agricultural Chemical Users Permit.
* A strong knowledge of current horticultural practices, plant identification, and IPM strategies.
* Experience with maintaining accurate records, operating horticultural machinery safely, and managing landscape irrigation systems.
* A proven proficiency in software including the Microsoft Suite.
