About the Department
The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity. This starts with recruitment and selection. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary. This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.
About the School
Nundah State School is a delightful school, with a culture of care and quality for our students from prep to year 6. Nundah State School, one of the oldest schools in Queensland, was established in 1865 on the site it currently occupies. The school features a magnificent, heritage listed, main building constructed in the 1930s. The school occupies a central place in the local community and has provided quality education over the decades for the suburbs of Nundah, Northgate, Wavell Heights and Kalinga.
We have developed a clear vision for Nundah State School with our community. This has 4 elements, including our motto, our statement of beliefs, our values, and our learner protocols. Our Nundah Nine Gifts are our 21st C learner expectations which frame the Australian Curriculum as Learning Intentions (and success criteria) in our classrooms. Motto: We Wonder at Nundah!
In everything we do we will live our Beliefs that:
* Given sufficient challenge and support all students can learn and achieve to higher levels.
* We have fun when we are learning, and that by making learning playful, and providing choices wherever possible we can further enhance learning.
* It is our shared responsibility to develop the whole person - social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical.
* Our basic needs drive our choices and that we can teach others that we are in control of our choices, behaviours, and attitudes, and that we can make strong choices.
* Growth and happiness can be best found in a culture of internal control psychology where intrinsic motivation is harnessed, and a growth mindset promoted.
