The Opportunity
The Manager Policy leads major policy development and environmental program implementation, seeks to influence whole-of-government and national policy formation, provides strategic policy advice and leads policy and program evaluations. The role works across government to develop strategic policies and major legislative or regulatory reforms and steward policies that align with the EPA’s strategic directions and plans and that are designed to meet Government objectives and policy directions.
About You
You will be an outcomes focused passionate advocate for the EPA who possesses strong strategic thinking skills and a genuine passion for delving into regulatory best practices. Your role will involve identifying how the NSW EPA can best protect the environment and promote human health.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
• Extensive experience in Cabinet and legislative processes and the ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of legislation.
• Extensive experience in policy development, implementation and continual improvement.
About the Team
This role sits within the EPA’s Strategy and Policy Division, which leads the EPA’s strategic and regulatory policy functions for all issues that fall within the EPA’s remit, including air, water, noise, forests, contaminated land, waste, chemicals, dangerous goods, gas, pesticides and radiation. You will be joining a passionate and high-performing division with a proven track record in delivering on the strategic priorities of the EPA and the NSW Government, who are committed to supporting the EPA’s ambition of being a world class regulator.
