The core capability requirements for this role are: Manage state-wide vessel maintenance programs for marine engines, associated marine systems and vessels, including inventory control of marine equipment and motors in compliance with National Standards for Commercial Vessels.Initiate, implement and manage work schedules and budgets, utilising effective management techniques of resources, internal and external, to ensure suitable statewide delivery of Service marine assets.Research and prepare specification for new vessels and provide recommendations and submissions to stakeholders regarding vessels, motors and equipment in service, or which may be utilised to ensure all products are fit for purpose.Develop and manage strategic asset management plans for the vessel fleet.Prepare budget funding submissions, budget estimates, project manage vessel builds and capital acquisitions based on asset management plans.Provide leadership and guidance to team members in the construction, commission, management and repair of the vessel fleet.Contribute to the development and review of operational policies, procedures and systems within the fleet management framework.Role Requirements: Technical/ Operational/ Educational experienceHighly desirable skills/requirements: Queensland commercial marine Open Master class 5 certificate of CompetencyMarine Engine Driver Certificate of Competency Class II (MED2) licenceDiploma of Project Management or similar qualificationOther: The successful applicant may be required to participate in an 'on call' roster outside of their normal working hours.The successful applicant may be required to travel intrastate at short notice.Applications to remain current for 12 months. #J-18808-Ljbffr
