About the role This role of Senior Systems Engineer will be part of the Technology Services and Commercial portfolio where the main purpose of the role will be to provide professional technical expertise to implement, operate and maintain Microsoft based security across the organisation. This role is fully accountable for securing Microsoft server infrastructure, supporting enterprise multi-forest active directory, and building infrastructure solutions to meet business needs. Your key responsibilities will include: Perform technical lead role to design and implement best practice security and access controls across Windows Server operating systems Lead the design and configuration of Windows server SOE. Ensure PCI standards maintained, and required level of detail is provided to annual audits to ensure successful results. Provide 3rd level advice and guidance to the operational support and delivery teams. Review Vulnerability audits and implement solutions to remediate or resolve. Provide expert technical advice and guidance across the organisation to satisfy business requirements. Ensure utilisation of technology is in line with published strategies and architectures. Ensure appropriate quality and security standards are always applied. Assist with design, implement and maintenance of Active Directory. Design and maintain Forest and Domain level security standards. Develop and maintain detailed designs for existing and new technologies. Assist support with incidents related to Active Directory. Coaching and support of junior team members. Create a team/collaborative approach within the IT community. Identify opportunities to improve systems functionality to address business issues. About you and your skills Work Experience Expertise in Windows Server security hardening and access control practices is mandatory. Solid understanding in security frameworks (CIS/ISM/ASD), principles, disciplines and infrastructure. Experienced implementing server and domain standards to meet PCI compliance are highly desirable. Experience in building secure solutions on physical hardware, Azure and VMware is essential. Demonstrated experience in automating tasks using tools such as Power Shell, Ansible and VSCode. Demonstrated experience and understanding of technology trends and issues affecting Windows environments and security practices. Proven performance in development of detailed designs and process documentation for infrastructure in a large scale, complex and distributed business environment. Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline preferred. Technological certification in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server and certificate management highly desirable.
