About the Business Unit Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system, as well as direct service provision through a range of programs including the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register and the Victims Assistance Program. The National Redress Scheme team sits within the VSSR branch and is the central coordination point for the Victorian Government's participation in the National Redress Scheme for people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse (National Redress Scheme). About the Role The Project Officer will undertake key operational processes relating to Redress applications for Victorian Government institutions. They will work collaboratively with stakeholders within the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments to ensure successful outcomes for victims of institutional child sexual abuse. As the Project Officer, some of your duties will include: operational processes including reading applications for redress and allocating these to the responsible institution, reviewing responses to information requests, proactively monitoring applications received, updating databases and reporting and analysing data providing project management capability to assist in whole of Victorian government coordination of the National Redress Scheme, including secretariat services for committees and working groups monitoring operational issues impacting the National Redress Scheme and contributing to business improvements.
