The Legal and Legislative Services unit is expanding and has a number of exciting and professionally rewarding opportunities for suitably qualified, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who want to be part of a dedicated team serving the WA health system and the wider community. This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
As a member of Legal and Legislative Services, you will be part of the cutting edge of law, effecting positive change within the community with a direct and immediate impact, such as Voluntary Assisted Dying legislation, infectious disease management, and medical and health research. Our work is multifaceted, sensitive and high profile, including providing legislative support to Health responses and other health policy matters, covering such areas as human reproductive technology and surrogacy, abortion, human tissue and transplant, medicines and poisons, authorisations and orders under the Public Health Act 2016.
Should you be successful, you will join a unique team within the WA health system that works on a wide range of legal and legislative matters across the Health portfolio. On a daily basis, you will have the opportunity to exercise your professional judgement to provide pragmatic legislative advice. You will be required to work effectively and collaboratively with all areas of the Department of Health and other stakeholders. You will be an integral part of a dynamic and supportive team of lawyers, legislative advisors, board assurance officers and administrators, where you will have a reasonable level of autonomy.
