Position Type: Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: $61K - 66K per annum

Since 1976 GLAICA has been the local community provider of quality aged care, retirement living and social housing to the aged in Forster-Tuncurry.
About the Role
We are seeking personal care workers to join our dedicated team at Glaica House. Excellent customer service is a priority.
In this role you will be responsible for providing quality direct care service in all areas of activities of daily living in accordance with the residents' identified needs and preferences outlined in the resident’s individual care plans, including:
* Personal hygiene, grooming, manicuring and oral hygiene
* Continence management
* Effective communication with residents
* Fitting of aids such as hearing aids, glasses, prosthetics
* Assisting with mobility and transfers following manual handling policies and procedures
* Supporting residents with the correct food and fluids
* Assisting with treatments such as application of ointments and creams
* Undertaking basic observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, blood glucose levels as directed
* Ensuring the residents' privacy, dignity & respect are maintained at all times
* Completing resident of the day as directed
* Performing other duties within the skill level as directed
* Following the directives of supervisors including Team Leaders and Registered Nurses
* Documentation including but not limited to: progress notes, Telstra Health Clinical Manager charts, tick sheets, record sheets, AN-ACC assessment, incident reports
* Assisting residents to attend and return from activities
About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
* Certificate 3 - Individual Support
* Understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvement
* Knowledge of health issues relevant to the elderly
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a wide range of people
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to read, write and communicate in English
* Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents and their families/representatives
* The right to work in Australia
* Current National Police Check
