Full time, continuing role Data Science Trainer within the Sydney Informatics Hub Starting salary $108,557 Base + 17% Super About the opportunity As the Data Science Trainer, you will lead the coordination, delivery, and development of the Sydney Informatics Hub (SIH) data science training programme. The SIH training programme provides advanced training in the effective use of data science, coding, data engineering and informatics methods to university researchers and external clients. Continuous improvement to the programme will be driven by insights gained through active community engagement and pedagogical and data science best practices. This is an opportunity to accelerate your training and technical data science skills and work with a highly talented team of academic and professional staff across a range of diverse research projects in the Informatics and Data Science field. Your key responsibilities will be to: report to the Data Science & AI Group Lead within the Sydney Informatics Hub deliver training by the Sydney Informatics Hub to researchers and academics across the university, and external clients develop new training materials and services manage and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure, identify, and develop training opportunities that use SIH skills and resources effectively deliver data science, informatics, and/or software engineering projects provide data science and informatics support to researchers internal and external to the university work collaboratively with other parts of Sydney Informatics Hub to build and develop an engineering and entrepreneurial culture in support of data science across the university. About you postgraduate qualifications (preferably to PhD level) in a computational area of study (computer science, computational statistics, engineering, physics, biology, for example) and extensive relevant experience proven experience in modern data science software and tools demonstrable experience and a passion for training/ teaching excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and communication skills exposure to modern data-centric programming languages (Python, R and Unix) and data management and version control tools such as git.
