Role Overview
As the Payroll Officer, you will be reporting directly to the Group Payroll & Project Manager. You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery on payroll and liaising with internal and external stakeholders on any pay related matters. You will have an understanding in award and multiple EBA interpretations.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive reports to key stakeholders and providing specialised advice and assistance on matters related to payroll, such as updates on awards, wage rates, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), within a fast-paced service industry setting.
Responsibilities
* Process weekly & fortnightly payrolls end to end, meeting deadlines.
* Ensure accurate recording of information in the payroll system.
* Maintain payroll records, collaborating with HR to update employee departments and shifts.
* Address staff and management queries regarding payroll.
* Manage leave records, preventing negative balances and ensuring policy compliance.
* Interpret awards/agreements and contracts to ensure payroll compliance and risk mitigation.
* Meet internal and statutory payroll reporting obligations.
* Administer payroll efficiently.
* Calculate and handle termination payments.
* Assist Senior Payroll Officer and Group Payroll Manager with month-end processes.
* Continuously seek improvement in work processes.
Candidate Profile
You are a Payroll Officer who can deliver in end-to-end payroll across multiple entities. You will have experience using payroll related ERP systems and will ensure your work is always of the highest level with a high attention to detail.
You naturally engage in best practice and thrive working in a role where you can seek out process improvements and manage future system implementations to ensure the payroll function is running seamlessly. Your communication and influencing skills are of the highest standard and your natural passion for Payroll will see you hit the ground running.
