About the Opportunity: We’re currently looking for a Rail Network Controller to join us on a fixed-term, full-time basis during our Crushing Season from May through to December/January. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Transport Operations Superintendent and gain a unique experience in the Transport Operations function. What Does a Rail Network Controller Do? As a Rail Network Controller, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing locomotive and traffic movements. You’ll make critical decisions about prioritising and allocating locos and bins for our farmers and mills, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our extensive 850 km cane rail network. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires quick thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to handle unexpected situations with clear communication with your team and other stakeholders. To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills. Bonus Skills (Not Essential, But Helpful): Experience in cane rail transport or a similar logistics/scheduling role. Familiarity with computer-operated rail scheduling systems and/or Heavy vehicle applications. Roster and employee management.
