The key responsibilities include:· Conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify faults and issues;· Performing repairs and replacements on faulty or damaged vehicle parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems;· Conducting routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups;· Testing and diagnosing vehicle electrical and electronic systems using a variety of standard techniques and materials, including manuals and computerised equipment;· Identifying and repairing vehicle body damage and performing panel repairs;· Accurately recording and documenting all repairs, services, and maintenance activities; and· Supervising and guiding apprentice motor mechanics when performing work on customer cars.The qualification and employment experience requirements are:· An AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or relevant experience; and· At least 3 years of relevant experience.The successful candidate may also have the following skills:· Experience with European car models;· Demonstrated knowledge of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering, and brake systems;· Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicle service manuals;· Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts;· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audience; and· Ability to work effectively under pressure and to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met.The salary range is $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation per annum.
