As a Corporate Actions Tax Research Associate in the Client tax team, you will be responsible for researching domestic and international corporate actions and related tax information for internal and external clients, as well as managing client queries and client deliverables in regards to Corporate Actions event information. Your new position requires an understanding of the tax implications from processing corporate actions as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. You will also be required to liaise with the Corporate Actions Processing Team as well as other internal/external stakeholders, to ensure timely delivery of high quality products and services and to provide support on a range of corporate actions related projects and new product development. Job responsibilities Source and validate Corporate Actions event data with a specific view to ensuring correct accounting and taxation outcomes Liaise with clients on their Corporate Actions event queries Investigate complex domestic and international Corporate Actions events, including processing methodology and application of taxation treatments Build and maintain internal and external client relationships, acting as a subject matter expert for Corporate Actions related matters Provide support on specific projects relating to clients, process improvements and product development Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with Corporate Actions Research Ensure comprehensive capture of related documentation to meet compliance standards and framework. Share knowledge and actively develop self and others in the team Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Accounting/Finance) 5 years’ experience in Corporate Actions, gained in a custody or financial services environment with accounting/tax based processing applied Sound knowledge of multiple types of investment instruments including Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives Proficient in Microsoft Office Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Curious and achievement orientated Exceptional attention to detail Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate and solve problems Focus on continuous process improvements Strong risk awareness and understanding of operational governance Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of accountability for own work Client focused & ability to adapt to change
