Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Officer
This is a fixed-term, full-time position based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct in Melbourne. The VPS 3 role has a salary range of $76,817 - $93,275 per year plus super.
The Opportunity
As a Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining all grounds and buildings of the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct. You will contribute to improving the outcomes of young people's futures by providing high-level services aimed at maintaining buildings and grounds at the precinct.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain all grounds and buildings of the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct.
* Provide services such as carpentry repairs, glazing, manufacturing fittings, mowing, pruning, spraying, mulching, watering, green waste removal, and propagation.
* Safely operate vehicles or powered equipment such as ride-on mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, forklifts, and elevated work platforms (EWP).
* Operate and maintain hand and power tools.
* Regular travel to other Youth Justice Precincts or locations may be required.
Requirements
* Experience in building and/or grounds maintenance with the ability to perform varied building maintenance repairs.
* Competence in identifying problems and providing solutions through team engagement.
* Knowledge and skills in pest and disease control, wide-ranging horticulture techniques, and irrigation systems.
* A Working with Children Check (WWCC) will be required to be maintained for the period of employment.
