2nd Year Refractory Bricklaying Apprenticeship
You will complete your Certificate III Bricklaying/Blocklaying qualification through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures with Host Employer, BlueScope.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
* Reline ladles for iron and steel making vessels using a combination of bricklaying and other refractory installation techniques
* Carry out refractory installation and repairs of Blast Furnace troughs
* Spray refractory materials using gunning techniques
* Follow Standard Procedures to ensure that safety and quality specifications are met
* Learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes using a combination of in house and external training

During your apprenticeship, you'll be employed by us, while completing on-the-job training with Host Employer BlueScope, located in Port Kembla.
